Wever-Ducre
Wever & Ducré was established in 1985 and has been active in both the Belgian and international lighting markets for 25 years. From the start, Wever & Ducré had a clear goal: to provide the market with quality architectural fixtures. We at SixLight have been there from the start and have witnessed how things have gone, not always smoothly but in a clear direction. Wever & Ducré is a brand with a coherent collection. You can recognise a Wever & Ducré fixture from a distance.
As of now, Wever & Ducré is present in 60 countries and has offices in many European cities. There is no doubt that this brand is a world player. Recently Wever & Ducré was purchased by XAL, an Austrian lighting company famous in its own right. The collection has been reduced, but all of popular models are still produced.
Every year Wever & Ducré introduces some new designs. Wever & Ducré is always present at Interior Kortrijk, Light + Building Frankfurt and Stockholm’s Design Week, where they reveal their new models. Sixlight follows all of these events and offers their new products as soon as possible.
Wever & Ducré offers interior as well as garden lighting. The brand also offers profiles, both standard as well as custom made. Wever & Ducré, also experiments with LEDs and colours under their KineLight brand.
Some of Wever & Ducré’s newest designs are, among others, the Concrete Tube which was created by a Belgian designer working in the difficult medium. From a Swedish designer comes Jalousie, which can be floor lamp as well as a suspension. A French designer dreamed up the Big-H which is literally a big, unique H-shaped lamp. The Semaphore is a lovely desk lamp based on LEDs. The Light Drop is a playful interpretation of what design should be. The Dimm-Switch is also very playful. Is it a switch or is it a lamp? The Frakske plays more with design: an ordinary functional spot is caught in a frakske, or jacket.
For garden lighting Wever & Ducré offer the Roof which is, playfully, a lamp under its own roof. The Gab, Pinguin and Tristal are three bollards very original in both their design and choice of material. Those garden lights are made from Wedu, an ecological material.
